Under the prevailing circumstances surrounding the Presidency of Nigeria, neither former president, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo nor, Major-General Muhammadu Buhari, presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), could have performed better in office than President Goodluck Jonathan.
A former presidential candidate of the National Action Council (NAC), Dr Olapade Agoro, who made the assertion in a statement, said Obasanjo and Buhari were now professing knowledge after failure.
He described them as "known grandfathers of vendetta seeking an unrepentant vindictive promoter in the political hot house of Nigeria."
Agoro clarified that although he was not and would never be a member of Jonathan-led Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), he, however, would not shy away from voicing his opinion on critical national matters.
According to him, Obasanjo had been the most favoured leader who found himself in position of honour without asking for it.
He advised the former president to know when to stop playing God in the politics of the country and learn how to appreciate others for jobs well done.
"Is he a devil that gives out a favour and sits down by it demanding a return of 10? This explains the sad and ugly brouhaha between Obasanjo and Jonathan with bang-bang reverberations on the entire nationhood of Nigeria,'' he said.
"It becomes apt for one to drawing back the attention of the well-meaning individuals to the fact that it was Obasanjo that actually forced Jonathan to run faster than his legs could have allowed," he said.
