PVCs DISTRIBUTIONS: INEC SAYS 52.2 PVCs COLLECTED BY ELIGIBLE VOTERS

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) on Tuesday said that it has distributed 52,233,396 or 75.88 percent of the Permanent Voters Cards (PVCs) out of the 68,833,476 of the eligible voters for the March 28 Presidential and National Assembly and April 11 Governorship and State Assembly elections.
According to (INEC) update of Distribution of PVC released on Tuesday by chief press secretary to INEC chairman, Kayode Idowu, shows that the national average of PVC collection stands at 75.88 percent.
Consequently, the INEC updated PVC distribution as at February 17 also revealed that out of the 68,833,476 registered voters, 52,233,396 eligible voters have collected their PVC's nationwide.

A breakdown of the table shows that Zamfara state tops the list of collection with 97.51 percent, while Ogun state is at the tail with 40.86 percent collection rate.
Further details of the table shows: Abia (79.91 per cent), Adamawa (85.19), Akwa Ibom (87.38), Anambra (76.37), Bauchi (84.97), Bayelsa (66.21), Benue (76.81), Borno (68.28) and Cross River (74.79).
Others are; Delta (75.97), Ebonyi (66.50), Edo (64.38), Ekiti (68.77), Enugu (74.53), FCT (61.42) among others.
Meanwhile, states with the highest record of collection include Gombe (95.05), Nasarawa (96.29), and Zamfara (97.51).
Before the rescheduling of the elections by INEC, there were no less than 23 million eligible voters that did not collect their PVCs, but as at now, the total number of those yet to collect their PVCs is 16,600,080, which is less than 24 percent.
INEC has slated the deadline for the collection of the PVCs at March 8.
