BREAKING.... STEPHEN KESHI FIRED... Replaced immediately with Shuaib Amodu.... REWARD OF ARROGANCE & COMPLACENCY.

Following an emergency meeting of the NFF Thursday morning in Abuja. The communiqué, which was signed by executive committee member Sulaiman Yahaya-Kwande, read that Amodu has replaced Keshi with immediate effect.

"The Committee, unanimously, praised the excellent contributions of the technical crew of the Senior national team, Super Eagles, led by Mr. Stephen Keshi, to the glorious accomplishments of the team in the past three years, and hailed Keshi, Daniel Amokachi and Ike Shorounmu as true national heroes. However, in the interest of Nigeria football and the desire to ensure qualification for the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations finals, the Committee decided to relieve them of their duties with immediate effect."

It further stated that: "Committee also, unanimously, approved the appointment of a consortium of coaches to lead the Super Eagles for ONLY the two concluding matches of the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying series (against Congo in Brazzaville and against South Africa in Uyo), after which an expatriate Coach will be appointed.

The consortium, led by Amodu Shaibu, also has Salisu Yusuf, Gbenga Ogunbote and Aloysius Agu. The team also has a new Coordinator in former international Garba Lawal, while Toyin Ibitoye is the new Media Officer and Godfirst Chike is the new equipment manager. Team Secretary, Enebi Achor, is retained."

Amodu will be assisted by El Kanemi Warriors coach Salisu Yusuf, who worked under Samson Siasia both with the Flying Eagles and Super Eagles, and Gbenga Ogunbote.

My grudges with Stephen Keshi is that he has grown arrogant and complacent. An employee is required to produce an expected output of an expected quantity and quality, anything less, will be displeasing to the employer. At such times the employee is expected to put in his best to meet target but to this end Stephen Keshi has fallen short.

Stephen Keshi boasted publicly that he is subject to hire and fire and that he is not perturbed if by chance, he is fired by the NFF, he said there are about two or three countries that are gunning to employ him to handle their national teams. It is unbecoming!

It was all boastings, immediately after winning the last Nations cup and after the woeful and lacklustre performance of the super Eagles. Keshi treatened of abandoning the eagles. Keshi has rejected on several occassions, entrities made by well-meaning Nigerians over his continued exclusion of the likes of Ike Uche, Obafemi Martins and Odewingie from his squad at a crucial moment when Nigeria is battling with qualifers for AFCON 2015.

Coach Stephen Keshi did well in the past, we all understand that there are moments of ups and moments of downs, there are moments of praises and moments of knocks, there are moments of wins and moments of losses. But whatever is the situation, a positive and determined mind is required to evaluate situations, make necessary turn-around, drastic and vital decisions that is capable of spurring his performances and outcome to enviable heights.

His manner of exit is unimpressive but whatever happens, we wish Keshi the best and we hope that Amodu wins the remaining two matches, to put smiles in the mouth of over 160 million soccer lovers of Nigeria.
