JONATHAN AND EMIR OF KANO SETTLE RIFT...... As Sanusi apologizes for his actions and inactions while in Office..... Good Development!

President Goodluck Jonathan  and the Emir of Kano, Muhammad Sanusi II, yesterday met behind closed-doors at the Presidential Villa, Abuja, where they allegedly settled their rift.

Yesterday's visit to the Presidential Villa was Sanusi's second since he became the Emir of Kano.

The first was initiated by the Sultan of Sokoto, Alhaji Sa'ad Abubakar last July during the Ramadan.

The monarch arrived at the State House with elders and aides about two hours before President Jonathan left for the headquarters of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, to pick his presidential nomination form for the 2015 election.

Sanusi declined to talk to State House correspondents when he came out of the meeting after an hour.

The monarch was ushered by his royal guards into his antique right-hand drive Roll Royce saloon and was driven off as he acknowledged greetings from State House officials.

Nigerian Pilot learnt that both President Jonathan and Sanusi agreed to work together in the interest of peace.

Presidency sources said yesterday's meeting was for reconciliation between the two sides.

They disclosed that the two leaders discussed how to ensure peaceful coexistence in the country.

Sanusi was accompanied to the meeting by all senior members of the Kano Emirate Council while Vice President Namadi Sambo, the National Security Adviser, NSA, Col. Sambo Dasuki, Attorney-General of the Federation, Mohammed Adoke, and the Foreign Affairs Minister, Aminu Wali, were also in attendance.

Sanusi later met privately with the President for 15 minutes where he appologised for his actions and inactions while in office.
